OUR STORY

The Local was established Nov. 2019 in the height of growth for Downtown Abilene. Owners Justin and Alex Russell decided to create a restaurant in the heart of Downtown Abilene, with a goal to add more flare and diversity to the downtown experience.
They teamed up with fellow Abilene native Chef Cody Enriquez to present an unforgettable dining experience. An elevated take on contemporary mexican cuisine and cocktails combined with superior customer service is where The Local strives.

During these uncertain times, guest safety is our utmost priority. The Local provides socially distanced seating throughout, and even includes a year-round tempered patio, party room, and mezzanine space. Our team is determined to keep The Local thriving as a sense of community for our guests.
